3 months home!(Update)(Picture OVERload)

Sweety boy, you are asleep right now on the night of your 3 month home day. Baby boy, 3 months ago you and I met and I scooped you up and kissed you.
You have bloomed so much since first stepping foot on Oregon soil.
You know how to sign several things, you know how to love and be loved, you know how to babble some words, you know how to dance and sing, you know how to light the room of wherever we go, you know how to brighten my day when its the worst of days, you kow how to flash a smile and get people's attention, you know how to give kisses and hugs, you know how to high-5 and knucks, and you know the love a family brings!
Little brother, guess what, you're free FOREVER!! I love you so much!

Last week we were at the beach  yet again!
Oh my to say you love it there is an understatement. You absolutely love running on the beach, playing in the tidal pools, and swimming in the pool. We counted "1,2,3" and put you under, oh i so wish i had an under water camera so i could have taken a picture of you, it was ADORABLE, you'd smile so big and open your eyes! You did much better transitioning from the next thing this time, then you did at the other beach. You're getting used to it.
One of the days it was really nice and warm so mommy let you play in the waves and you got all wet then cold after we changed you. We were getting ready to leave the beach and go back to the condo, and i took you up by the car and sat with you wrapped in a blanket and sang "You Are My Sunshine" to you, you fell asleep it was so precious and sweet.

Today you were really cranky and fussy, I think you may have a little cold or something.

Caitlin Met You!

Little Man, I just wanted to post this for you. :)
Okay you know Caitlin, you were actually quite fond of her, you let he hold you and play with you. You are quite the little charmer. :)
I started talking to her while momma and Dada were in Russia for the gotcha day trip, to bring you home. She has a lot of the same interests as i do and we became instant friends.
Cait, asked me if she could write an article for the school newspaper. Which of course I didn't say no to, so here it is:

"He is a sweet, red haired, brown eyed little boy. His name is Vahnya and he has Down syndrome. Vahnya was born in Russia where he was put up for adoption because of his special needs. Across the world, thousands of children like him are put into orphanages because their lives aren’t valued in their own country. Around the age of five, the many of these children are transferred from their orphanages to institutions where the majority of them are tied to their cribs and die within the first year from lack of care, nutrition, and attention.
Luckily, that isn’t the way Vahnya’s story goes. In March of 2010, a Franklin High School family found Vahnya through an organization called “Reece’s Rainbow,” which specializes in international adoption of children with special needs. Originally, the family hadn’t thought of adopting internationally, but once they saw his face, his parents knew he was theirs.
The estimated cost of his adoption was over thirty-five thousand dollars, but they were determined. They held garage sales, fundraisers, and took donations, all to bring Vahnya home and give him the love and care he deserved.
Finally, after flights to Russia, truckloads of paperwork and 385 days of waiting, Vahnya was welcomed to Portland by his six brothers and sisters on March 30th, 2011.He has already seen the ocean, gone to baseball games, and learned what it means to have a family. Although he doesn’t understand now, this little boy was saved from a life of discrimination, neglect, and sadness. His journey to the USA was long and difficult but his oldest sister, a Franklin High School freshman, puts it simply: “he is worth the wait!” "

I think it was two weekends ago, or one, something like that. We were at the field and I texted her and she asked if she could come hang out, OF COURSE! She came and we went to the park. It was so cool to see her and you together, she prayed for you and talked about you, she absolutely ADORES you. (All my friends do, you little lady's man! )

 This week we were silly, and cute, and lovey! We went to the park when the sunshined and stayed home when it rained! This week was a blast. I love you so much! Your personality is so cute!!! Its so hard to explain your cuteness, you are like overflowing with cuteness! :) (Oh and your sissy MaeMae is quite the cutie too.. :)

Unacceptable and Hurtful..

Okay this post is not gonna be like usual, I'm gonna take this post to post something to YOU guys, not for little V.
The other day i was watching the "What Would You Do?" video on youtube(Most of you have probably already seen it)
I commented on it sharing what I would do if I was in that line and telling about the joy little V brings. I got the nastiest comment back. Oh I was furious!
I am the top one, and the other is what this rude person said, excuse the language they use, its UNacceptable.

Ashley, you all know her right? She is amazing and her baby sis is a cutie, and I replied to this persons comment saying: (Ashley the top me the bottom)

I was so sad when read the comment that this person posted to me, after i just said that. I was on the verge of tears, no one should use that word, its just like any other minority slur and I'll tell you what I told my friend, you wouldnt call some one a nigger or a chink so why call some one the R-word? Hmm... answer that and let me know how you would feel if I said nigger to you? (I would never say those words, they are hurtful and pointless)

So, if I hear you or read that you typed that word, on something to me, especially this blog or any of my friends' blogs, i will have to tell you to STOP and THINK. And I will give you a piece of my mind.

I know some of you may not know what DS is so I'll tell you its a chromosomal mutation where trisomy 21 (extra copy of the 21st chromosome.) happens. IT is NOT a catchable disease, its not even a disease or an illness, its not contagious. You won't catch it if you hang out with them they are just like us!

Remember the R-WORD is just like any other minority slur, unacceptable and hurtful!!!
