Clouds will rage in, Storms will race in, But you will be safe in my arms.

Pumpkin, last night Madison and I were talking about what we could have been doing the day you were born, November 3, 2007, we thought since it was a Saturday we could have been at home, at our friend's house, sleeping in, while on the other side of the world, something amazing was happening, your birth! God knew what He was doing, 2 years before we knew about you. He knew we were gonna find you, so I kind of have a story to tell you.

In the spring of 2007 mommy had decided she wanted to open a daycare for all the little kids to go to, so mommy did, she opened a daycare. It was really hard for mommy to leave us at home while she went to work every morning, since mommy has only ever worked at home. Every morning while mommy was on her way to work, the song 'In My Arms" by Plumb played. At first mommy didn't really realize it, then she stopped and listened to the lyrics which go :
"Your baby blues
So full of wonder
Your curly cues
Your contagious smile
And as I watch
You start to grow up
All I can do is hold you tight

Knowing clouds will rage in
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms" (there's more but its too long.)

Anyways, mommy would hear this song every single morning, some might say it was only a coincidence, some (like me) might say it was God's way of telling her what to do. In November and December of 2007 Mommy listened to God, when he had told her that the daycare far from home was not where he wanted her in life. So guess what mommy did, she left the daycare she worked so hard to open to come home and be with us.
Back then Mommy didn't know you, I didn't know you, none of us did. Back then you were just put into the orphanage from the hospital you were born in. But, Pumpkin, God had a plan! God had planned this for a reason, he told mommy to come home when he did, because if she would have stayed at the daycare, mommy wouldn't have had the time to look into Adoption, she would have never found that first website with special needs kids, which lead her to Reece's Rainbow, and we wouldn't have found you! Doesn't it just amaze you beyond words, the way God works! Mommy left the daycare around the same time you were put into the orphanage, mommy listened to that song, around the same time you were born.

Me, the very girl who didn't know anything about Down Syndrome 3 years ago, has learned all about it in just one short year. Me, who didn't know you could love so much and long for so much for such a long time. Me, who almost always gave up on a game just because I wasn't winning, has learned that you can't give up. Because if mommy and daddy gave up on you we would never be just a few weeks away from your Gotcha day. Me, the little girl who always wanted to adopt from China, is now going to have an amazing little brother through adoption. Me, the girl who just last year around this time told mommy how much I wanted another little brother. Me, a girl who didn't really trust in God all that much as turned to him for everything! Me, a girl who made fun of the 'different' has changed to advocate for them. Me, just a girl in this world, who feels like nothing, holds the HOPE, FAITH, TRUST, and JOY in her heart, as she waits for your arrival! Me, your sister Josiah, has been forever changed because of you!
I love you baby Pumpkiny!!
Love Sissy!
